The purpose of the awards is to acknowledge outstanding performances/achievement within Godalming’s sporting environment. The person nominated must be a resident, or attend a school or be a club member in Godalming and surrounding areas:
Bramley, Brook, Busbridge, Dunsfold, Elstead, Farncombe, Hambledon, Hascombe, Milford, Peperharow, Thursley, Witley and Wonersh.
To enter a nomination please complete this form. Please provide details of the nominated person, team or club as well as your own personal details. Your nomination should be supported by evidence to show that the individual / team is worthy of the appropriate award. The performances, which will be considered, must have taken place in the twelve months ended 30th September 2024.
Nominations can be made by any bona fide individual, club or organisation in the designated area (See above).
Please submit your entry by Friday 25th October 2024. Once submitted the application form will be carefully considered and the applicant will receive a response after the judging panel have considered the submission. Outstanding performance by an individual male or female other than youth.
🏆 Charterhouse Club Shield
Outstanding performance by any person male or female with date of birth after 30th September 2006.
🏆 Denningberg Shield
Outstanding performances in any single sport team comprising at least 4 members.
🏆 Waverley Shield
Outstanding performances in any single sport that comprises at least 4 team members all team members with a date of birth after 30th September 2006.
🏆 Go Godalming Shield
Outstanding club performance.
Outstanding performance by any limited ability sports person.
🏆 Godalming Angling Shield
This award is for a coach, official, administrator or general helper (aged 25 and over as of 30th September 2024) who has:
1. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club.
2. Made a tremendous impact on a club or organisation through volunteering.
3. Shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers.
This award is for a coach, official, administrator or general helper (aged 25 and under as of 30th September 2024) who has:
1. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club.
2. Made a tremendous impact on a club or organisation through volunteering.
3. Shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers.
This award is for outstanding performance in a single sport by sports teams from Secondary Schools or 6th Form Colleges containing pupils with ages ranging from 11 to 18.
Outstanding performance by an individual or club in cycling.
🏆 Byron Grainger-Jones Cup
Outstanding performance by an individual who has had a long service to sport in the community.
🏆 Jenny And Chris Slyfield Trophy
Will be presented to an individual who can demonstrate their dedication to coaching sport locally over the last 12 months.
1. Minimum of Level 2 NGB coaching award in the sport they are being nominated for.
2. Made a positive impact by increasing participation and/or inspiring and encouraging others to improve in their sport.
3. Evidence of personal development in the last 12 months.
4. A professional approach with excellent dedication.
